King Charles Diagnosed with Cancer, to Undergo Treatment

London: King Charles III, just 18 months into his reign, received a shock diagnosis today: cancer. Buckingham Palace confirmed the news, revealing the 75-year-old monarch has begun treatment and will temporarily step back from public appearances. Despite this setback, the King remains "wholly positive" and committed to his royal duties.

The diagnosis follows a recent hospital stay for a planned prostate procedure. Doctors identified a separate concern during that visit, prompting further tests that uncovered the cancer. While the palace withheld details about the specific type, they stressed it is not prostate cancer.

Despite the diagnosis, King Charles will continue to handle essential state business and meet with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Queen Camilla, his wife, will also maintain her scheduled engagements. This decision reflects the King's determination to uphold his responsibilities even amidst health challenges.

The news inevitably raises questions about his long-term health and ability to reign. However, the palace's assurance of his positive outlook and unwavering commitment offers a comforting message to the nation and the world.
